FAQ Odoo

It depends on the job. Based on the offers shown, an Odoo website and an audit of your sales process are among the larger budgets, while configuring your Odoo costs about half as much as the audit. Customizing or developing modules starts low, and the final price depends on what needs to be coded.

Give the version number, the edition (Community, which is free, or Enterprise, which is paid) and the hosting type: Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or your own server. On Odoo Online, the version hosted by Odoo, custom-developed modules generally can't be installed. These three details change what the freelancer can do and the work involved.

Start with configuration: Odoo's standard apps already cover many needs (sales, stock, invoicing), and a freelancer can check what they allow before coding anything. A custom module is worth it for a need that's truly specific to your business. However, it will often need updating with each new Odoo version: factor that into your budget.

Mainly if you already use Odoo for sales or stock: the website then shares the same products, customers and orders, with no double entry. An order placed online goes straight into your sales, with stock updated. If you only need a showcase site, a simpler tool may be enough: an Odoo freelancer can tell you.

Ask which apps the freelancer has already worked on (sales, stock, accounting, website) and with which Odoo versions. Also look at the profile, with client reviews and statistics. The Contact button, on the service page and on the profile, lets you describe your process before ordering and check that the freelancer knows your version.
