FAQ Desk research

Prices vary little from one offer to another. Online information research or a topic summary sits at the lowest end, and formatting your bibliographic references costs about the same. The final price depends on how many sources need reading and how long the summary is: every offer shows its price before you order, and options can be added.

Often 2 to 3 days for a targeted search or a summary of a few pages. Broader research, with many sources to read and compare, naturally takes longer. Each offer shows its delivery time, and some offers include an express delivery option if your deadline is close.

An AI tool summarizes a topic in seconds, which is useful for a first overview. However, it can invent sources, figures or quotes that don't exist, and it doesn't always say where a piece of information comes from. A freelancer goes to the sources themselves, reads them, checks their date and reliability, and delivers a summary where each point is backed by a source.

Yes. Send the AI-generated text with the list of sources it cites: the freelancer checks that each reference exists, actually says what it's quoted as saying and isn't out of date, then replaces the ones that don't hold up. It can be quicker than full research, simply because the outline is already there.

State the question the research should answer, not just a topic: "who are the main suppliers of this product in Europe?" works better than "suppliers". Also give the time period, the language of the sources, the types of sources you want (studies, press articles, official websites) and what it's for: an internal memo, a presentation or a decision to make.

Ask for an example of a summary they've already written: sources should be cited precisely, with their date, and ideas grouped clearly. Also check that they know your field or the sources that matter to you.
