Prices vary little from one offer to another, whether it's market research before launch, an analysis once you're up and running, or writing your questionnaire. A foreign market study costs slightly more. Check what's included (number of pages, sources, area covered), since options can be added depending on the scope. Every offer shows its price before you order.

It describes demand (market size, trend), your target customers and their buying habits, direct and indirect competitors, current prices and the regulations that apply to your business. It ends with a clear conclusion: does the project hold up, and under what conditions? These figures will then feed your business plan: ask for every source to be cited.

An AI tool gives an overview of a sector in minutes, which helps you prepare your questions. However, its figures aren't always sourced or up to date, and it knows little about your town or your local customers. A freelancer relies on verifiable sources, such as official statistics or sector studies, and can also check a study written with AI before you show it to a bank.

Keep it short, around ten questions, and start with the easiest ones. Prefer closed questions (multiple choice, a 1 to 5 scale) so you can compare answers, with one or two open questions at the end. Avoid questions that steer the answer, such as "Would you like a cheaper product?". A freelancer can write the questionnaire and test it on a few people before you send it out.

Choose someone who knows your sector or the target country, especially for a foreign market. Look at their profile, with client reviews and statistics, and ask for an excerpt from a study they've already done. Then give them your project, the geographic area, your target customers and the decision the study should help you make: that's what avoids a generic document with no useful conclusion.
